Possibly the single, most widely programmed exercise on Earth? The simple and accessible nature of the plank makes is a go to exercise but it's benefits, when executed with intent, are often lost for a box ticking type protocol approach. When the plank is executed with specific cues and intent it can be an exercise that creates huge value in a multitude of environments, whether is it anti-extension of the lower back, hip flexor reconditioning or quadriceps loading. It really can be a secret weapon at times when other loading options are limited.
