When you think about a rotator cuff strengthening exercises then this is one of the exercises that immediately spring to mind. Often given for all kinds of issues and sometimes never progressed upon. If you have a significant history of shoulder pain then this can be a useful exercise however this has a global activation of muscles around the shoulder and is often not a highly specific rotator cuff exercise when pain is present or in your recent history.
